Kipling goes to school

Kipling started his outdoor education today at the always wonderful Paws for Praise, which is on the ocean about an hour from us. I’m a little leery of a few of the schools closer to me and Anne (the owner and instructor at Paws for Praise) is a total sweetheart and really knows dogs. He had a socialization class today and every Sunday, and will get into puppy K at a different facility this week if all goes well (the other facility got flooded out last week and is making repairs).

He did SO GREAT and I was so proud of him! I expected him to be a big mushball with the people there, and he certainly didn’t disappoint. What was really lovely was how quickly and easily he interacted with the other dogs, all of whom were adults at this particular class. By halfway through the class he was wrestling with a Boston Terrier, playing tug with a Cockapoo, and darting over to give kisses to an elderly Lab in between.

After class we went to the evening service at our church and (of course) he came along. He met a Rottweiler, schmoozed a bunch of older people, and ran around with the youth leader. Everyone was just enamored with him and kept talking about how they couldn’t believe what a nice puppy he was and how well he behaved.

What a good baby bear he is!
